Some news from Tronc Virginia

1 - Tom White, sports editor of the Virginian-Pilot, moves into a new role as business editor, overseeing print and digital

2 - Jonathan Heeter, sports editor of the Daily Press, moves into a new role as editor of a cross-company multimedia team.

3 - Jami Frankenberry, assistant sports editor at the Virginian-Pilot, becomes sports editor for both groups.

4 - The newsroom staffs are in the process of unionizing. Organizers say they sent a letter to local officials asking for the company to voluntarily recognize them, but were rebuffed.

 

No surprised, as the Los Angeles Times already embarrassed the company by unionizing and making a national spectacle of it.
