Brazilian gymnast/freestyle skier is paralyzed after hitting a tree while skiing and fighting for her life. The second graf is of the "No shit, Sherlock" category.

    Back my language Nazi role.

From the story: "She dislocated a vertebrae near the top of her spine..."

Wrong. "Vertebrae" is plural. She either dislocated a vertebra or she dislocated several vertebrae.

this is the Olympics of Avery Brundage and Juan Antonio Samaranch, of racism, anti asemtism, terrorists, fixed games, and politics. It's about money and privilege

My interest in the Winter Olympics is usually limited to hockey, Alpine skiing (especially the downhill) and luge. The rest is usually TV filler and background noise.

never. It's a sham. There are great and cool moments, but overall it's a farce.

I'm staying in North America until next Sunday, with NHL commitments until then.

But, we are being told not to bring any personal computers -- especially if we want to use them upon returning home. Serious concerns about viruses, malware and spyware. We know we're going to be tracked and monitored, but our tech people say the threats are deeper than that.
