Sounds like things are smooth so far, though they are threatening arrests after bikers and pedestrians were checking things out on the 405.

One hour-5 minutes driving home on a Friday night from the SF Valley to the AV -- a drive that normally takes me 90-plus minutes on a Friday.

Thank. You. Carmageddon. May we have another?

WolfpackHustle wins. JetBlue never got off the ground.

Another overblown hype like Y2K. I live in L.A. and the roads have less traffic than most Saturdays because people over-reacted. Look at Google maps' traffic - the entire city is green - I've never seen that before 11pm!!

Except for the guy in the high-speed pursuit right now on the 101. They're in the Valley, went past the 405. They are heading east through through Universal City and now are in Echo Park. They'll be near downtown L.A. in a little while. Freeways are sparse, cops hanging back a few car lengths.

Sounds like the 1984 Olympics and that "massive" rally on May Day a few years back.

Next year, what'll happen is, when they go to knock down the second half of that bridge, everyone will think how smooth this year was and get all cocky. Mass gridlock will ensue.
