    I didn't forget, but even if I had, Dad #2 gave me a nice little reminder as I was getting ready to leave for the day.

    Free food automatically tastes better. ;)

    I'd recommend going heavy on the syrup in that case.

    It's a nice stunt for Denny's no doubt. Getting a lot of play in the news. But every time I go to a Denny's I remember why I don't go there more often when I get the bill. If I'm going to pay $8 or more for breakfast, I'll go someplace better.

    Well, there isn't in giving away free food either

    And there's little upside, other than, "Hey, people have just told us what our food is worth. Nothing".

    Giving away your product is a dumb business strategy. Oh, wait, we already knew that. :)

    I heard on the radio this afternoon that McDonalds was giving away free fries today. Is this a local promotion or is this a nation wide thing as well.

    And if it is across the country, who is trying to kill us all?

    This made me laugh... it has such potential, too!

    "The first time I went to Denny's, they asked me 'How many in your party?' and I said "six hundred million."

    or...

    "At Denny's, they have the grand slam.
    In Soviet Union, they have borscht."

    What I'm most curious to know is how many people were able to eat a Grand Slam at more than one Denny's today? Say get one at 6 a.m. and then go back for another one at another Denny's in the same city?

    If I weren't previously committed, I might have done that or I might have eaten at one and gotten a raincheck at a second. As it was, I dined in at the one closest to my house.
