My favorite part of this story is that the AP used Urban Dictionary to confirm it's a slur.

Not sure about PorkChop, but Ferrous is environmentally insensitive.

I thought that it did as well. But maybe the slur has been expanded.

    Same thought exactly.
I thought it would have been fat people complaining.
I still don't see the "Pork Chop = offensive to Puerto Ricans" relation.

Somewhere, Pork Chop Pough is weeping.

Probably behind the counter at Burger King.

That's why I just call my brother a fat load. I don't want to piss off an entire group of people, so I play it safe.

What next? The Seahawks have to change their logo because it's exploiting Native Americans from the Northwest? It's a freakin' minor league baseball team!!! The only place I wouldn't use "PorkChop" as a team nickname is in Newark, NJ. Never heard of any other group of people besides the Portuguese being called "pork chops."

I guess my uncle's offended, too. His nickname is Pork Chop. Hell, it's one of my favorite foods. Nothing better than a leftover fried pork chop sandwich.

As a fan of aluminum, I find "Ferrous" personally offensive to me.
