I hear ya, but my house is in a flood zone, so while the melting is great, the more gradual it is, the better. It's only supposed to go into the low 40s here next week, which should be perfect.

The next time somebody brings up a "buying a house -- what should I look for?" thread, remind me to mention: "Do not move into any neighborhood without underground power lines."

Walking distance or short drive to grocery or pharmacy could be on it as well.

Hope y'all are safe. How does this shape up with that 2010 storm? Neighborhoods in northern Virginia were snowbound for a week. Pretty sure we got another storm a few days later that just added to the misery.

It's not the Pike. It's the Southeast Expressway.

This looks like it'll be slightly worse than 2010's first storm. I think we got 18 inches, and then another 12 three days later that year.

I have about 15-18 inches now, and it looks like it won't accumulate much more than that.

We're fully expecting to be snowbound until Tuesday-ish.
