SNL's Continued Downward Spiral Thread

So you're saying you're... Not a fan?

 

To each their own, indeed. People should watch what they like. I just like to make fun of it.
As a former fan, I find it strange, maybe even disturbing, that a show I once loved as a bastion of iconoclasm has become, even worse considers itself, iconic.

I'm curious about the rating numbers, though. Intuitively seems finagled.
Audience down but share up, kind of thing.

 

I don't know, man. Between Netflix, Amazon and the ESPN app with games I missed earlier in the day, there are literally hundreds or maybe thousands of better things to watch at that time.

And I'm not an SNL hater, but there's no reason to sit through commercials, forgettable sketches, terrible musical guests and all that when the good stuff is going to show up online in a few hours.

 

If that bit is representative of today's SNL, no, not a fan. Perhaps other bits were humorous.

 

Perhaps. There's something about "live." Still waiting for Ashlee Simpson to screw up some lyrics again.

 

Speaking of Debbie Downer.

 

Pshaw. It was crap. I used to really enjoy SNL, back when it was funny!

 

Watching everyone read cue cards is an instant turnoff. Is this stuff just thrown together now?

 

The first Debbie Downer sketch was a riot. I'll admit it.
Circa same era, I love the hot plate bit.
