  1. The wife says that I have to get fixed as soon as baby No. 2 is born.

I really, really don't want to do it, but I seem to have little choice.

She's getting her tubes tied, but she says that's not enough. She has a friend who became pregnant 20 years after she got her tubes tied - just as their youngest child had graduated from high school.

I don't want that to happen either, but I really, REALLY don't want to do this.

I've been able to laugh this off for a while now, but now that the baby is just a couple of months away, my wife is talking about the Big V more and more.

    What to do?

My dad did it a little while after I was born. My brother's 18. My dad got his second right after him.

Tim Taylor did it, and Dr. Cox did it twice. You'll be fine.

Forgive me for asking, but why would you both need to get fixed?

  4. Double protection, I guess.

You can still get pregnant when you get your tubes tied. It's call tubal something or other.

I'm not sure of the success rate on the vasectomy.

    You do it.

She's had to spend nine months per baby being pregnant.

The big V doesn't take that long and healing time is fairly fast.

And if she's pestering you about it, it's best you do it.

I can recommend a doctor... one I've mentioned before here...
If he can give himself the unkindest cut of all because he's the only doctor he would trust to do it, he can work on you too.

  7. Easy for you to say, you little twerp. Your ejaculate is so old that it'll come out as little old men, if and when ...

Why don't you want to do it?

  10. But I really don't want to ... it's just so permanent.

  11. And what if the surgery is fucked up?

Two guys in the department have had the V treatment.

Both said that after 48-72 hours of ice on the boys that everything was good to go. But I have no personal experience.

    TTFWIW.
