I didn't like 'Deconstructing Harry' when I first saw it. I very rarely rewatch movies anymore, but strange circumstances caused me to watch 'Deconstructing Harry' several time. I have become fond of it.

Disagree... HUGE finish made it pretty good.

Slumdog was one of those movies I liked, but I feel like I have to defend myself from the charge of being contrarian just for the sake of being contrarian because I wasn't as blown away by it as some (most?) people were. My wife, for one, absolutely adored it.

I liked it, obviously wish they made more movies like it instead of the usual crap, but wasn't overwhelmed.

There's nothing close to the level of 'No Country for Old Men' or 'There Will Be Blood' this year, but there were some good movies.

Lugz mentioned in another thread that she was getting a bootlegged copy.

If you haven't yet, you should rent '4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days'.

No epic westerns, but I believe Slumdog is better than either.

What a phenomenal movie. I just watched it online - i have the link if interested - and it was simply brilliant. Up there with Milk and Dark Knight, though I'm still waiting to see the Wrestler in person.

Speaking of great Woody Allen films from the recent years, Sweet and Lowdown was pretty amazing.
