Obviously, Bayless is kind of a blowhard now that he's on ESPN. I chalk that up to the worldwide leader paying him to be outrageous. Does anybody know if he was similar when he was on the Dallas Morning News?

I want to get peoples' opinions of him as a writer, IJAG, is there anything THAT absurd about that?

I have never read his columns. I never lived in the areas where he worked. But his book on the demise of the 80's Cowboys was the weirdest sports book I have ever read. He talked about how he was a born again Christian and Tom Landry had spiritually failed him because Landry tolerated the philandering of Clint Murchison and Tex Maulee. I also remember a line in the books that the Cowboys empire was built on "adultery".

My impression is that Bayless takes himself very seriously to the point of parody.

But you didn't ask for opinions. You asked if he wrote the same way he is on ESPN. You can find that out for yourself.

You need to be here more than a week to use people's nicknames.

    On Skip, I know nothing.

    I'll have an IBC.
