    Really? I've passed up thousands of 50/50 raffles. I never entered because I thought I wasn't supposed to. Now you tell me.

    Dude, if you have any occasion coming up that's worth it, strongly consider having the butcher cut you a tenderloin. Not many chances at cooking one of those, given the price beef is at.

    Otherwise, let the butcher guide you through it. My grandparents used to get a side every year, and you'll end up with steaks and roasts and plenty of ground beef and stew meat. Enjoy.

    A side is really a lot of meat and it's going to entail every cut possible -- you can't say "I'll take it all in tenderloin" because cows aren't built that way. The only decisions are how large you want the pieces. Rib roast or rib steaks. Chuck roast or chuck steak or chuck stew meat. Eye round or ground round.
