The Six was a term coined by Drake, although some say he bought the naming rights from another local rapper, who allegedly came up with the term because the CN Tower and the Rogers Centre next to it look like a 6 from afar. In Drake's version, The Six refers to the six boroughs that made up Metro Toronto before they were consolidated into plain old Toronto. They were Toronto, Etobicoke, East York, Scarborough, North York and York. It has nothing to do with the two area codes used in Toronto, 416 and 647.
