SJ.com website tech help needed

    I'm trying to change my avitar picture by uploading a photo, but I'm getting this error "The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved."
    Is this a temporary hiccup in the system, am I doing something wrong, or for reasons of system security are no new uploads of avitars allowed?

    You can't attach an avatar through the internal system anymore. You have to link to an avatar from an outside source.

    Click on the "Specify avatar by URL" button, then post the avatar URL in the designated box.

    If you need to upload the photo somewhere, try http://imgur.com or http://imageshack.com. Also, the site will warp any non-square into a square, so if you can crop the image yourself, that's better.
