The Hammers will rise again, despite stupidly dropping Bryzgalov thinking he was headed to the minors instead of to four consecutive victories.

I'd listen to offers for the aforementioned Mr. Bryzgalov, but I'm tempted to keep him at this point.

Armchair_QB's Charlestown Chiefs kick my Stormin' Canes around the ice 10-4-5 to take over first place, so here are the standings through nine weeks:

I just need the Chiefs and HB's Agitating Avery's to have one of those 8-8 games this week so I can retake first place. :)

    Consecutive losses.

The Averys need to get back to winning.

The Chiefs add to their lead and the Crosby Show continues to move up after being around the middle of the league a few weeks ago and now are tied with my Stormin' Canes for second. The Hammers also coming on after a big week and are only three points out of second:

    Six weeks without a win.

Averys have to take that out on someone. Soon.

I have a decent shot at tying the three-season league record with an 18-0 victory and could break the record.

My Stormin' Canes lead by that score over the Cape Fear Flyers with Brodeur's shutout tonight. I figure to be safe in the goalie categories (and will bench my goalies for the rest of the week) and only the 3-1 PPG lead seems to be in danger (but you never know.)

Now if I could just get a short-handed goal, I could get the elusive perfect week.

In Week 9 earlier this season, the Ice Capades tied the league record with an 18-0 win over Laying Pipe. The only other 18-0 win in the three-year history of this SportsJournalists.com league was recorded in 2005-06 season by Zamboni Roadkill over TheCrosbyShow in Week 14.

The biggest win in the 2004-05 season was a 16-0 win by Melrose's Place Week 16 over Stevie Y's Swan Song.

Let's Go Cape Fear Flyers, Let's Go!

Sorry, OD, since I am the only one to have 18-0 wins (I'm Ice Capades and I was Zamboni Roadkill), I need to keep that record intact. :D

Coincidentally, I was also on the losing end of that 16-0 matchup.

This week is simply an aberration since 3/4 of my team hadn't played until tonight. We are putting no more stock in this week than Hillary is in Iowa.

Besides, Philly has the Leafs tomorrow night. Let the comeback begin.

The Flyers against the Laughs could produce lots of stats.
