    Race will be around 6:25.

Can only note that the scene surrounding the departing-train platform the last two years has been ugly -- UNLESS (the lone exception) you assume position which will allow you to get on the FIRST train out. After that? Ugh.

Or unless you just hang back, let the idiots fight, then jump on one of the later trains.

    Right?

    EDIT: http://www.mta.info/lirr/service/BelmontStakes2008/index.html

    I'm good with that.

Talked to a friend who will be covering the Belmont. Grandstand seats are sold out. We can buy $10 infield bench seats or SRO.

I was never buying a grandstand seat.

As stated privately, I'd totally go, but IJAG would have to watch my kids. My 6-year-old daughter could talk her up on NASCAR.

I'd be happy to watch your kids as long as I don't have to talk NASCAR.

    I'll watch your kids, Bubbler.

    Prices confirmed:

    Grandstand $10
    Clubhouse $20

Heard that general parking will be $20, but that's NOT confirmed.

If by "watch" you don't mean "introduce them to beer, gambling and ogling hot people" then I'm out. If I can do those things? I'm in!

Last call for Yankees tickets for Friday night. If you want in, let me know before 2 p.m.

Crawling trains? Mad dashes to the parking lot? Heaving, sweating crowds? Sounds like a remake of "The Out-of-Towners."

But an ad-hoc SportsJournalists.com outing? Not to be missed.

    Where's Jack S?
