I was tickled earlier this week when I saw they were going to do this. I wonder how much data was entered to make it as realistic as possible.

I wondered if American Pharaoh would pull up to place.

Mixed feelings about this. The race itself? Wow. There's also the fact that you won't have any situations like poor Ruffian's. There's also the cultural element. The derby is so much more than the race.

Secretariat holds the record - still - in all three races. Anything other than a Secretariat win would have been a joke. I watched it but didn't notice full order of finish.

They should have had Secretariat pull away at the end to win this thing by 10 lengths. Big Red still stands that tall.

I got married on Derby Day in 1988. Winning Colors first across the line. I didn't care. May 7, 1988.

Probably the best Triple Crown series that I remember was Affirmed nosing out Alydar in all three races in 1978. I remember somebody wrote that if those two horses raced for 5 miles, Affirmed would have been a nose ahead the whole way.

    Maybe the Belmont.

Agree Secretariat should have won by more. 10 lengths might be a bit excessive considering his real Derby victory was only by 2 1/2 lengths.

Oops, got me there. I'll settle for five lengths.
