The perfect song for parents to play to their children when they're scared during a storm:

"Lullabye for a Stormy Night" by Vienna Teng:

I could probably include just about her whole catalogue in this. Her voice is amazingly clear and beautiful.

Edit: Huggy, I saw Gaslight play "Here's Looking at You, Kid" last week during their encore and it was great. I was so glad they played it.

I love threads like these, mostly because I get to hear songs otherwise I probably wouldn't.

Anyway, Huggy posted "Wind Cries..." by Hendrix. I'll add
    and
    .

    Squeeze - "Up the Junction"

    Tremendous melody, sad song

PC mentioned the awesome "Waterloo Sunset". To me, "That's Entertainment" by The Jam might be the best Ray Davies song the man never wrote.

The version from the live Jam album Dig The New Breed is fucking unreal.

The Hendrix talk reminds me that the blues are underrepresented here, so I'll throw one of my favorite bluesmen in the mix:

    Million Miles Away, Rory Gallagher

Man, am I jealous. I love those guys and that album is one killer song after another, but I have listened to that song probably five times as much as any other song on that album.

That song makes me cry, because I was in Richmond for that. :(

I'm jealous, too -- now that I have a clue what y'all are talking about (thanks, dreunc! :D)
