Seeing the last page of final edition slide into place so I can get home.

Increasing, subtle signs of maturity from my daughter.

Flame wars.

 

Zeke that was fantastic, very nicely done.

Having weekends off after a change of venue last February.

 

Watching my son complete different life "firsts" has been a never-ending source of entertainment, joy and pleasure for me.

I swear to god, it's one of the deadpan funniest things I ever read.

1) The first short sip of the Clontarf.
2) Snow flurries in very cold weather.
3) The first half-hour after sunset in June.
4) The opening chords to "Tangled Up In Blue."
5) Mr. Yeats.
6) And because this is getting far too sincere, raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.

 

Your first glimpse of the field after walking into a baseball stadium.

Watching your child sleep at night.

Catching every light green on the way to work.

And the small of a freshly-mowed lawn.

 

• Loading up on convienence store snacks at the start of a road trip
• Post-workout euphoria
• Floating in a pool
• The near-guilty pleasure of library books

 

A quick phone call from Ms. Slappy telling me she loves me.

-Double Steak, Cheese with peppers and onions, onion rings and a Dr.Pepper, watching my team play on Sunday afternoon, with no one home.
-The trip to bathroom at half time
-The sausage & olive pizza for the 2nd game of the double header.
-The trip to the bathroom followed by
-The Sopranos & Deadwood
-A blow job

 

-- knowing Final Jeopardy when none of the contestants do.
-- the first sip of good coffee
-- a nice long walk in the morning
-- a round of golf without have to wait for traffic in front of you
-- popping on the TV and seeing The Godfather (I or II), Hoosiers or Coming to America on.

 

Since some of us are being sincere...just about anything my 3-year-old does. Except for the really annoying stuff.
