Like him or not, a fun column. (Simers, I mean.)

Among other things, he thinks the Giants are going to win the division, he says his heart wasn't in the opener and supports Jamie McCourt in the divorce proceeding.

So THAT's where Carlos Lopez wound up. Was curious.

OK I might be dense, but doesn't TJ indicate at the end of the column that the interview is with the jockey named Manny Ramirez? Isn't the whole column basically a put-on?

    Indeed it is.

I thought it was a somewhat clever idea, but not really an interesting read.

I liked it. I like Simers. I like being entertained.

    So do I.

This wasn't entertaining. It was inane.

Heehee, what a clever guy, getting someone with the same name as the Dodgers player to talk to him about Dodgers stuff! That T.J., what a card.

I would rather read something like this than kvetching about the home team after two games.

Right. I think you have to view it in the context of a long season and the mix of the dozens and dozens of dodgers columns he will write.

I'm just stunned that Simers hangs out with other writers.
