Decent Mets story. A bit overblown on the "O-Circle" motif, but I'm willing to give Gary freakin Smith the benefit of the doubt. His Little Rock Central football team story (which I just got to read this week) was much better..... but both were way beyond what I could have done with the material, so who am I to judge???

    They did. 1997 thru 2002.

My impression is they got along, but there was an unspoken tension and rivalry between the two b/c Duquette was a bit higher in the food chain and the one perceived as Phillips' right-hand man (and, therefore, heir apparent). Of course, that only meant Duquette was the one who got to get thrown under the bus by lil' Jeffy Wilpon after lil' Jeffy pushed for Kazmir for Zambrano. So it really worked out pretty well for Omar.
