    I would have guessed Halladay, but they went baseball last year, and he didn't even win a title. Weak crop of candidates. Durant would be the most interesting choice, but they just wrote about him.

    How does Armando Gallarraga not get nominated? A crime.

    It's now a popularity contest, which means off that list Nadal wins. He'll sell the most magazines.

    I am pretty sure that the actual winner won't be "nominated." So anyone on that list won't win it. I think those articles are just ways to drive more content out of the Sportsman of the Year. So Brees is still eligible.
