My guess is the "price" includes a cut of the advertising Merideth sells in the mag. Seems like it's structured so Merideth can continue publishing and then walk away once they no longer think it's worth the effort - almost like a reverse mortgage.

I’m looking forward to lunching at the SI Bistro at the Pittsburgh airport and getting PT at the Sports Illustrated Rehab Clinic.

Clay Travis compared this to how Playboy brands itself with merchandise. Dumbest thing I’ve heard in a while, and I watch the NFL Network too

Whatever happened to Clay Travis? Haven't heard his name in ages.

The only SI-branded merchandise I’d consider paying for is a football phone.

Just a guess but: Watch for the gambling app and eSports league. Those are sports-related ventures that might plausibly benefit from an association with a brand that has some history behind it.

The latest print issue has a Scorecard piece about American Pharoah's offspring starting to hit the track, including a horse that "won a five-furlough race." Remember when you were more likely to find a $100 bill in your SI than an error like that?

Is the bistro thing for real? Can see it happening and it probably will rise and fall even quicker than the ESPN Zones.
Are there any of those left?
