Should Roy Hibbert have to sit out Game 7 for homophobic remarks?

Serious question: Have they been handled differently by the NBA?

Two other questions, much less serious: How is mythological Goddess of Youth involved in all this? And who the hell uses "coon" these days?

I'm asking in response to the posters who say the comparisons are "ridiculous."

    Why? What's different?

So you're asking them to compare concrete examples and how they were handled by the NBA with your pet hypothetical scenarios? Gotcha.

You're also asserting gay slurs are viewed as lesser slurs. I asked if you could find any examples in which the NBA responded with stiffer penalties in cases that included slurs of other groups.

    Did you find any?

    NASCAR did.

Is the NBA less progressive than NASCAR?

Is NASCAR more reactionary and more foolish than the NBA?

BTW, is this question even being discussed anywhere else other than this board? Not that I can tell. The couple articles I've read about the comment never even suggested the possibility of suspension.

I suspect that this thread would've been quickly dismissed as just another of ND's dumb trolling threads except that this time he found a vocal ally in Dick.

At this point, I'm not interested in defending an argument any more. I'm just interested in figuring out the correct course of action - and why.

P.S. There was a column in The Nation today calling for a suspension.

Normally I wouldn't contribute to the debate but today is a rare day I have the time between assignments.

It could gain some traction before the next tip but I'll be shocked if the commish suspends anyone for an offense that doesn't rise to such a level.

Yes. And he, like you, is wrong.

Someone asked if it is being discussed elsewhere. It is.
