Should a team that doesn't win its conference championship play in the BCS Championship Game?

  1. No. Never. It's an unwritten rule, yes, but it should be doctrine.

  2. Let's leave the option open, as crazy things can happen in a season. There's got to be a HUGE reason

  3. The option should always be open. It's not a huge deal.

Good catch. Looks like he did go back, according to Wiki. He started doing his own rankings in 1978 (he started at USAT in 1985.) Not sure when he did the retroactive rankings.

If Okie Lite beats OU, Tech gets the B12 game on head-to-head vs. UT.

Then Tech beats Mizzou to win the B12 championship.

Texas sits home at a solid No. 2 and gets the BCS nod over Tech.

Talk about some red Raider asses.

Nebraska made the title game in 2001 after getting their asses kicked by Colorado and didn't even play for the Big 12 title.

No, because if you're not the best team in your conference, why should you be competing to be the best team in the country?

Notice in both cases how it was a Big 12 team that snuck in? Hello voters, sit up and pay attention.
