Is it just me or does April bring out the crazies? Between the religious violence, school shootings and various family massacres and terror plots, it's not just the flowers that come back in the Spring time.

We should outlaw April. That would solve the problem.

    1) I was thisclose to going there instead of where I went for school.

    2) A stop for a few years not so long ago. While it's sickening no matter where it occurs, it seems more so with places that left good memories.

    Who gave him the gun?

Where he got the gun he used is a question to which I hope the public will get an answer.

An autism diagnosis in and of itself would not be disqualifying to gun ownership, though the severity of it might be. That is to say: he may have been able to lawfully purchase one.

North Carolina law is actually surprisingly good on handgun purchases (if you believe in reasonable gun control measures) despite its system being rooted in Jim Crow racism.

It requires people wanting to purchase a handgun - regardless of whether it is from a dealer, private party or at a gun show - to get a permit from the sheriff. The sheriff must conduct a full criminal and mental health background check before issuing the permit.

South Carolina, on the other hand, only requires you show ID and pass an in-store background check, which is not as thorough.

What is the in-store background check?

"You ever murder anybody with a gun?"
    "Um...."
"You gonna shoot me or rob me with it?"
    "Nope."
    "Here you go. Happy shooting."
