I feel uneasy pointing this out, but it could have been a lot worse considering his elevated position, the crowded venue and the use of bump stocks. I know that close to 900 were wounded, but not sure how many of those were from gun shots or because of injuries sustained while fleeing.

Remember all the clamor about banning bump stocks after the shooting? While Congress did nothing (shock) the DOJ effectively banned them (beginning in March) and the owner of the patent discontinued their manufacture. Gun rights groups are planning to sue to overturn the DOJ's new regulation.

What's more of a target of a right-wing nut than Country Fucking Music?

This guy probably did have some Trumpist leanings, but at the end of the day he was a fucking nut.

If he had his wits, he could've tried to sell it as a false flag and wear a Dixie Chicks T-shirt or something.

I guess it’s fitting that the story ends with a frustrating lack of answers. I hate that it seems like we as a society have given up on trying to solve the gun problem. So much easier to demonize young women seeking abortions than to take a serious look at why a greater-than-zero percentage of us believe that the right to a deadly weapon is bestowed upon us by a deity.

The sad truth is, there have always been, and always will be people in this world angry and mentally unfit enough to do such things - the sad part is we allow them access to the means to carry out their plans.
