I'd say this coaching hire has gone as badly as possible for Loyola-Chicago. They really didn't get the publicity they were hoping for from a "name" hire, they've gone 31-62 under a novice coach and now they've had 10 out of 12 players request transfers.

I wonder what kind of alleged player mistreatment we are talking about here.

God. She was the It Girl of basketball in the '90s...until she came out.

You think a female basketball player coming out has a detrimental effect on her career?

Not so much now, but we're going back quite a few years. She was married at the time and had a kid, too.

On the bright side for Loyola, if the current roster has gone 31-62 in three years, if they all transfer out and must be replaced with leftover/castoff JUCOs, a couple problem-case transfers from other D-1 schools, maybe one or two mystery walk-ons and a handful of spare-part prep recruits, they probably won't be all that much worse of a team.

Plus if the complaints are justified in any way and Swoopes is fired, it's a pretty good bet whoever the new coach is will be a veritable Mr./Mrs./Ms. Sunny Personality.
