I'm eating breakfast and lunch at work today. Sounds run of the mill, but it's really great news for those who haven't experienced the cafeteria here.

It was a traditional club, MM, with toothpicks and all, but it was on jalapeno bread. So fancy, but not pretentious. The cider slaw as a side added to the enjoyment.

A good club sandwich is marvelous.
A bad club sandwich is as awful as a good one is good.

I can't simply define the difference but I know it when I see one and when I eat one.

A place near the paper made a rye club that was ridiculous in its goodness. Came with a HUGE pickle and homemade potato chips.

I suppose I could still eat there even though I don't work there.

As for good news, it's been a good month other than the whole turning 54 thing:

*Loving my new job, a lot.

*Nats are doing well and Jee-SUS is about to arrive

*My car passed inspection without needing brakes, which I thought was a given.

    *My air conditioner is fixed.

*I'm going back to New York this summer after missing last summer

*Both kids are doing spectacularly well.

*I remain as good looking as ever.

Scratch the lunch at work today. One of my division chiefs took us out for Five Guys. It's hard to express how happy I was at that moment.

Pickles are a whole lot better to like than lamp or desk.

I've only got four weeks left for my term as sgt. at arms and program coordinator for my Rotary club.
That will be even better news in four weeks.
