SF Chronicle slashing staff, possibly closing

    I think the E&P is having layoffs too:

    "NEW YORK The San Francisco Chronicle, which recently threatened a shutdown or sale if union concessions are not met, told the local Newspaper Guild that at least 150 jobs would be cut regardless, and likely up to 225 coudl be lost if givebacks are not approved, the union said in a bulletin."

    I'm amazed people are still throwing out the "I'll believe it when I see it" attitude.

    How many newspapers have to close, how many people have to get laid off before you realize this industry is dying?

    All right, I understand now. That's a big difference. Now some people will be voting for the givebacks and then hoping they're among those whacked.
