That no one was talking about this movie as Oscar material should be enough to let you know what to expect. When it got some really bad reviews I read the plot on wiki. An interesting premise. Kind of like It's A Wonderful Life - but different.

I miss the days when nobody took Will Smith seriously, including and especially Will Smith.

Good work. First thing I thought of after I read the previous post.

The hubby just asked me if I wanted that movie earlier today. I'd never heard of it until then.

I would see it just to see Rosario.

Saw it today. It's OK. Kinda boring. Will Smith mopes around and flashes his smile for most of the movie. Figured out what he was going to do during one of the early scenes with Rosario.

Yeah, no kidding... For a film that they've been acting like everything is such a big secret, everything is pretty obvious.

My in-laws said the same thing. They're movie-crazy. So I take their reviews pretty seriously. They told me enough to make me wait for the DVD.

I'm guessing Ali changed that. Now, like Tom Cruise and a couple others, I think he needs the validation that an Oscar would give him.

The difference is, Cruise has been Oscar-worthy a few times (Born on the 4th, Magnolia, Jerry Maguire) and Smith has not. As good as he was in Ali and Pursuit of Happyness, I don't think too many people thought he was robbed when he lost.
