I read "Clemente" and am still wondering why anyone thinks that's an exceptional book. Maraniss throughout calls Clemente a mystery that nobody can unravel and proves it by telling us nothing except what every baseball writer worth his BBWAA card had said for years. The only new stuff is the airplane's flight records showing it was overloaded. The fact of the overloading was reported at the time.
