    Responsibilities

    • Provide news, analysis and feature stories on the NFL that can be leveraged on mobile and desktop sites.
    • Provide NFL commentary and analysis on Yahoo Sports' video franchises.
    • Maintain an active presence on multiple social-media platforms and collaborate with social team to promote Yahoo Sports' coverage and content.
    • Create and shape shoulder content around big events like Super Bowl, NFL draft and Yahoo Sports' livestream of NFL games.
    • Contribute regularly to Yahoo Sports podcast.


    Qualifications:

    • At least five years experience in sports media/journalism.
    • Minimum three years experience reporting on the NFL.
    • Strong news judgment and ability to develop sources.
    • Exhibited writing expertise and versatility in dealing with trending stories, features and breaking news.
    • Social media experience on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and a willing spirit to explore other rising social platforms.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with the NFL's top industry voices and decision makers, from players to executives to agents.
    • Exhibit comfort level in conducting on-camera interviews.
    • Possess working knowledge of the NFL scouting and draft processes, including player evaluation and ranking.
    • Ability to work with multiple editors and writers on projects.

    Has Yahoo fallen a little? Seems a few years ago some pretty good columnists from some pretty good newspapers were
    leaving for Yahoo, now it seems like they have several openings in a short time span.
