    I cried when that happened. I was working at a newspaper in Steubenville, an hour from Pittsburgh. I was still a Reds fan, having worked there only a year and all. But I Clintonly felt their pain. And it was somber for a week. Hell, I was sad for myself because a year into my short-lived sportswriting career I missed out on a chance to cover a World Series game. I had already been to an NLCS game (1-0 loss to Glavine).

    Of course everyone remembers the final play. But who remembers Jose Lind's error that opened the floodgates -- like his only error ever!
