Nothing wrong with that at all. After all, Cantwell was doing the same thing

For Stevens to go down to Washington and rabidly campaign against her because she dared to have someone testify under oath -- to avoid the perjury charges he and everyone else with an IQ above Brian Urlacher's uniform number -- knew was forthcoming, is petty bullshit of the ripest order.

This shows you how immature and how big of a tool Stevens is.

God do we have to go into the Southern Dem Senators and Governors who were crooks and/or racists? And some of whom looked the other way when blacks were getting lynched and otherwise victimized:

    George Wallace
    Leander Perez
    The Long brothers in La.
    Gene Talmadge
    Lester Maddox
    John Stennis
    Orval Faubus
George Smathers (frat-boy racist pal of John Kennedy)

And every one of them got rich off the public till, at a time when the media didn't have public records to ferret it out, or weren't looking the other way. Think many reporters in Louisiana were rooting out corruption when Huey Long was in charge?

To say nothing of all the state and county elected officials and high sheriffs in the South who were dems and certified race baiters and criminals.

Entire books have been written on the corruption of Southern Democrats. Try "Gothic Politics in the Deep South," by Robert Sherrill.

And in many cases, Pulitzers have been won... like this year with the Birmingham News...

Hondo, both sides can be corrupt. I'll give you that and won't get into the political angst. But regardless of the party, Stevens is slimy. Period.

Problem is, the political scene is as barren up here as the tundra. Who could run against Stevens is a very real question. We have a hot neophyte governor, but it's not like there are too many contenders waiting in the wings.
