I predict mid-majors will be paired against each other as per usual.

Losses to Rider, WKU, Arkansas, Alabma, and Auburn. Glancing at their schedule, I only see two wins over tournament teams in the regular season, ODU and Houston. Their best wins after that are two vs. Ole Miss.

Anyone know where there's a blank bracket online that is formatted well for printing?

Mississippi State will make the NCAA Tourney, I think, following their weekend performances.
MSU's one-point loss to 26-8 Richmond is getting no more of a look than their 1-point win over lowly LSU.
As the regular season ends, I still say the worst loss on MSU's slate was the opener to Rider.
If State's 23-9 going into the Kentucky game, they might already be in.
    They weren't, so they wait.
They will get up for the NIT, too, if they don't get a berth in the Dance.

Like I said - if you have knowledge of this team let me know -- how in the hell did that team lose all of those games?

They are one of the more talented teams I've seen.

That answers really simple: Rick Stansbury. No doubt the guy can recruit, but he's consistently been one of the worst game coaches for quite some time now.

I'm a self-indulgent asshole, so I'm going to post my pairings and see how badly I get it wrong

    EAST
    1. Kentucky vs. 16. Robert Morris
    8. Marquette vs. 9. Old Dominion
    5. Michigan State vs. 12. Wake Forest
    4. Baylor vs. 13. Oakland
    6. Xavier vs. 11. Minnesota
    3. New Mexico vs. 14. Houston
    7. Northern Iowa vs. 10. Missouri

    MIDWEST
    1. Kansas vs. play-in winner (Winthrop vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff)
    8. Clemson vs. 9. Texas-El Paso
    5. BYU vs. 12. Cornell
    4. Pittsburgh vs. 13. New Mexico State
    6. Gonzaga vs. 11. Siena
    3. Temple vs. 14. Wofford
    7. Georgia Tech vs. 10. Washington
    2. West Virginia vs. 15. East Tennessee State

    WEST
    1. Duke vs. 16. Lehigh
    8. Notre Dame vs. 9. Oklahoma State
    5. Wisconsin vs. 12. Utah State
    4. Butler vs. 13. Mississippi State
    6. Vanderbilt vs. 11. St. Mary's
    3. Villanova vs. 14. Morgan State
    7. Texas A&M vs. 10. San Diego State
    2. Ohio State vs. 15. Montana

    SOUTH
    1. Syracuse vs. 16. Vermont
    8. Texas vs. 9. Florida State
    5. Richmond vs. 12. Murray State
    4. Purdue vs. 13. Sam Houston State
    6. Maryland vs. 11. Louisville
    3. Tennessee vs. 14. North Texas
    7. UNLV vs. 10. California
    2. Kansas State vs. 15. Ohio

I think I might have overseeded Richmond and Georgia Tech and possibly underseeded Northern Iowa, but it took 30 minutes to make the changes to my final bracket to pass the selection committee rules. And it's too late to change them now.

--------------From a comment I made a month or two ago, zag

This season it's lack of inside play.
Kodi Augustus is good at times, but the "fire in the belly" comes and goes with him.
Romero Osby (6-5) is coming on as a soph but needs to dominate more.
Varnado (6-8) is the only contributor with height.
John Reik (7-feet) has been a non-factor, slow, and uncoordinated in his first year out of The Sudan.
Elgin Bailey (6-8) is set to redshirt after a recurring injury never allowed him to play this year. He's good, but hasn't played all year.
The NCAA has never allowed heralded frosh Renardo Sidney (6-8) to become eligible.
State's had five or six contributing guards all year, who are either hot or cold from outside.
