JournalismJobs.com - Job Listing - Seeking talented sports writer

The Idaho State Journal, a six-day-a-week newspaper in Pocatello, Idaho, is seeking a talented sports writer to cover Idaho State University, high school and local sports in eastern Idaho.

The ideal candidate for this job will be able to connect with local coaches and players, write clean and concise copy and have the ability to tell a good story via print, online, social media and video.

We cover all aspects of the local sports scene — from game stories to features to articles about the controversies that often involve athletes and coaches on and off the field.

The Journal has a growing social media following, and we are seeking someone who's competent with social media and has video capabilities. Recording in-game video highlights and postgame interviews are examples of how the Journal incorporates video into game recaps.

The Idaho State Journal is a 15,000-circulation paper in the mountains of eastern Idaho. The Journal is located in Pocatello, a city with a population around 55,000 that's a 2-3 hour drive from Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Tetons, Boise and Salt Lake City.
