    Pride goeth before destruction...

In other words, it's easier all around to just wear it. The opinion of a bunch of random drunk fans in San Diego will ultimately be of no consequence to you.

If a sports jersey is the most embarrassing article of clothing your wife has given you and expected you to wear, I'd say you're doing pretty well.

You wear the jersey for the day of the game. Only then, but that is the time to wear it.

    And

    SHE BOUGHT IT FOR YOU!!!

Really, this is not that hard.

Plus, as Zag can tell you, a true football fan wears the jersey everyday they can during the season. Heck, you should have a white fo the road games and a black for the home games. :)

Frame the jersey, hang it in your office. Please don't wear it. Maybe if the game was in Tennessee, but in SD you're going to look like a schmuck.

Keep you dignity - don't wear the jersey. San Diego is bad place for visiting fans . Show her this story about a Jet fan:

The jersey thing cracks me up. Jet games are a jersey haven. The randomness of names chosen is what gets me. A few seats in front of mine a couple that has to be in their 70's both wear Ty Law Jet jerseys - Huh? I did not realize he was around The Jets long enough to have a jersey.

If you tell her you've heard that guys who wear the visiting team's jersey at NFL stadiums are magnets for drunk assholes who want to pick fights, well you wouldn't really be lying, even if it's not likely to happen in San Diego. If she still seems disappointed you're going to have to suck it up and wear it. After this game though, take 21's advice and hang it up in your office or man cave.

This is one of the many reasons why GFs are better than wives.
It's also why I have a strict policy that requires GFs to buy all Xmas and birthday gifts from an approved list.

Tell her how much Vince Young is hated in Southern California for what he did to USC.

Consider buying a McNair jersey. All fans respect the dead.

She asked you if you're going to wear the jersey, so she clearly wants you to wear it.

How often is it this easy to make your wife happy?

I love when people are wearing jerseys of guys who were with the team for a year or two. I remember covering a Niners game and someone was wearing a Ken Dorsey jersey. One of the writers pointed the guy out and said, "Maybe it's his dad."

I think he's stuck this time. When he get's home it goes in the frame. Mutters something about cherishing it because it's their first football game together.

Women like us understand it, but if this goes well he could take her to a whole bunch of games together and the jersey stays in the frame.

Yeah, but people in San Diego are actually sane. :D
