    The Monroe News, an award winning daily located in Monroe, southeast Michigan on Lake Erie is seeking to fill a sports reporter position. Reporters are expected to be self-starters who are good at generating story ideas, acting with urgency to collect and analyze information about sports events and feature topics to write compelling stories for online, mobile devices and print publication. Examples of work should show well-developed reporting and writing skills, as well as the ability to shoot video and engage readers via social media. Must be comfortable posting content to Facebook and Twitter. Must have a good knowledge of AP style; at least one year's professional experience is preferred, but recent graduates with significant college experience and internships will be considered.
