If it hadn't been for this dustup, I never would have known this guy was employed at MSNBC, or that he existed at all. Who cares about cable news? It's all worthless.

If I remember correctly, I think he was headed out in any event as MSNBC was giving an hour to someone new, but hadn't made the call on which hour it was.
Yeah, nothing better to show your side is "better" than using that kind of rhetoric. Good riddance.

Wasn't he the guy who called Sarah Palin a whore, or something close to it?

He was on 20/20 previously, but is maybe most famous for his "all access" Michael Jackson interview.

That was the one where MJ climbed a tree, right? That was incredible TV.

Not precisely. Palin compared the debt we're accruing now to subjecting our children to "slavery" in the future. Bashir read the vicious diary of some plantation owner and the things he did to slaves, and suggested Palin was so dumb she'd be a reasonable candidate for that treatment.

In other words, Bashir took Palin's bait, disgraced himself in the process and lengthened Palin's celebrity shelf life by a few more minutes.

One of those suggestions was that someone shit in Palin's mouth.

Maybe Bashir can work at Fox Sports with Jay Glazer.

I think that there were two issues that cost Marty his job :

    1: MSNBC ratings tanking
2: Alec Baldwin made a big stink over his termination verses
What Basher had said. It kind of put PMSNBC in a bind.
