    The broad strokes:

    • launches August 2014

    • 1,000 live SEC events per year, 450 on TV, 550 digitally

    • tripleheader of games all 13 weeks of football season

    • every football game of every SEC team aired live on SEC Network or one of its broadcast partners (no more pay-per-view)

    • deal with ESPN extended through 2034

    Checkmate, Longhorn Network.

Your brain is too footbally. I think we're all forgetting the main point of this -- hours and hours of televised volleyball with multiple camera angles.

Does that mean it will be part of my expanded sports package? If so, this is terrific.

I see these college conferences and their distribution as cable's preparation for the horrible day (for them) that political pressure forces the end of bundling and allows menu cable choice. SEC TV will have a built-in market to cushion the blow of many consumers deciding that college lacrosse day does not justify the cost of ESPNU.

    Missouri at Kentucky, noon

Arkansas at Mississippi State, 3:30 pm.

    Tennessee at Vanderbilt, 7 p.m.

CBS and ESPN are still going to eat up anything worth watching.
