The Seattle Times is looking for an Assistant Sports Editor who may oversee our digital operation, among other things. Specific duties TBD. As an Assistant Sports Editor, you will oversee coverage on multiple platforms in one of America’s most vibrant sports cities and regions. Successful applicants will prove they have a clear, creative vision for sports coverage, with developed sports knowledge, and ability to set an agenda for regional coverage. Additionally, this role calls for a leader who can passionately and professionally lead a team of reporters in a multi-platform coverage plan, with “outside-the-box” enterprise mentality, to grow readership through integrated digital, photo/video, and graphics story-telling.

And in case you're wondering, our vacant Sports Producer's position has been converted to this.

As always, this comes with the MileHigh seal of approval -- not to be confused with the Moddy seal of approval, which has significant more clout. They just won the Grand Slam at APSE. Paul is great. You will learn and grow and get a lot better here. Apply. Now.

One update: I announced to our staff tonight that reporter Stefanie Loh is being promoted to an Assistant Sports Editor position. But to clear up any possible confusion, this is a different position than the one we have posted. We are still looking for someone to fill that spot. Apply here: The Seattle Times | Careers
