I've gotten a little peace out of the knowledge that decisions I do not like are usually made by people who have never been in my kitchen.

    But not much.

How do we know people weren't told in person in these newsrooms instead of via memos? I don't have a problem with memos (it's gotta be in writing somewhere, right?) and I do think the honesty is to be commended.

I don’t want to lose any of you and I know that doing so carries a price for our newsroom and for our readers. But we don’t have a choice if we want The Seattle Times to continue.

    Treating adults like adults.
