At end of Super Bowl Joe Buck mentioned that only other
World Championship team from Seattle was the
1979 Seattle Supersonics much to the dismay of
    The Storm.

What about the 1917 Seattle Metropolitans?

The Sounders also have won something called the US Open Cup three times... :D

I think Title IX guarantees by law that the WNBA is considered a major sport.

Yeah, but that's BS. They're one of the few MLS teams that really care about that (many of them play their reserves in the Cup games). And the Sounders always outbid everyone to buy home games so they never have to play on the road.

Didn't Buck say something like "the four major sports" when discussing the championships?

And sorry, but the WNBA isn't a major sport.

The Seattle Rainiers won the Pacific Coast League title in 1955, when the league was an open classification. Do they count?

Well, if they had mentioned the Storm, they would have had to mention the 1997 Seattle SeaDogs of the Continental Indoor Soccer League.

If your league had a four-time champion fold -- not move but, poof, fold -- you're not a major sport. (Hello, Houston Comets)

That's fine if the players want to tweet anger, but no TV network is going to mention WNBA titles in the middle of the friggin' Super Bowl.

Don't piss off this fan base.

They'll stick their cats on you and pound you with their softball bats. While listening to Tori Amos.
