Serious buzz at Vikings training camp is that fired Sun Times Bears beat guy returning to take over former job in Minnesota. If true should shake things up on the beat. Jensen broke a lot of news there for the PP back in the '00s

Any idea why S-T fired him?

That would be a heck of hiring/addition for the PP. Kudos to them if true ...

Heard a while back that Jensen still kept a home in Minnesota and that his career is way secondary compared to his spouse's corporate job. Have known folks who have worked with him who didn't enjoy the association, but it wasn't always clear if it was earned via people skills, a reaction to his ambition or what. Didn't realize the S-T "fired" anyone though.

I didn't think he was fired. From Chicago Now: http://bit.ly/1evqQV3

Sean has his share of issues, but he's a very good reporter.

    Take away the question mark.

"I am pleased to welcome back Sean Jensen @seankjensen to help cover the #Vikings for the @PioneerPress while we are between beat writers."

What does he mean by between beat writers? Is Jensen just contracted for the time being?

Yeah, I thought that was strange too...

Yeah, it's asking too much for people in the communication business to actually be clear in their communications.

If it's a staff hire, say it. If it's a contract thing, say it. If they're hiring Jensen back but not classifying him as a "beat writer," say it.

If that's too much to ask for 140 characters, take 280 or 420.

The world of office memos and editor meetings has done more to damage the newspaper industry than the Internet, by far.

The audience of that tweet isn't a bunch of gossipy sports writers. It serves the readership just fine.

Now that the Minneapolis paper is going to be between beat writers, too, maybe Jensen can whip up a bidding war for his freelance/contract services.
