This position was filled by Lauren Gustus from the Salt Lake Tribune, anyone have any comments on her?

Good luck to Lauren. Hope the above scenario doesn't play out at this shop. Tough to navigate in waters like that.

Isn't the Reno paper half the size of Salt Lake ?

Congratulations to Lauren. She's been groomed by the right people and I hope she's able to go in there and take charge. Lauren's a can-do person.

Ted Power is the kind of guy that works 100 hours a week and is a Gannett true believer, so I don't imagine he'd care how much his people would have to work to put out a paper. He spews ideas a mile a minute, which is good for shaking up things, but a nightmare if it's an understaffed paper implementing the ideas.

  10. It is a nightmare, then.
