It was a look inside preparations for a TV broadcast that not many fans get to see. It was also a look at another side of life.
You fail to grasp that. There was nothing wrong with that column.

Yes, the Kool-Aid drinkers are starting to arrive.

Using it in the context of "Tank Johnson shouldn't get another chance because the Bears dumped THIS guy" is a huge stretch.

Plus, as I just said, the league/players union wouldn't let the Bears give Tank his flat-out release.

Try to keep up if you're going to tell people what they don't grasp.

it's not that tank should have been dumped - the point is that the kid should have been given a second chance, too - and the reason he wasn't is because he doesn't have a union and he's not worth much to anybody - the column opened a window into the caste system of sports - tank at the top - little worthless media guys at the bottom

He also gave confidential info to the people he shouldn't have.

I find it amusing that the Kool-Aid drinkers don't see the parallel between this situation and the Balco thing. In this thread, we're suppsoed to believe the poor media guy should get another chance because giving out the info was simply an innocent mistake. In the other thread, we're supposed to believe the media guys should get another chance because they wouldn't give up the source.

The Kool-Aid must be cool and tasty.

he made a careless but innocent mistake - that didn't change anything - and had no impact on the criminal justice system like the balco case - it was a slip of the tongue that virtually meant nothing since the news was coming out anyway

and you say 'off with his head'

    you're quite a man

Yes, it really meant nothing because it was a meaningless game. The team, however, did not want that bit of info coming out before the game.

And back to the point: No. One. Cares. After Tank was arrested, there may have been 500-1,000 topics more relevant than this one. Instead, the Tribune dung beetles chose this speck to spin into a ball of mud.
