Just don't wear a sandwich board in Harlem telling everyone how much you hate 'em. Samuel L. Jackson isn't gonna be there to save your ass.

The H word is "however". Just because people of a certain race like to say "HOWEVA!" to each other doesn"t make it any more appropriate for everyday conversation.

Here's an exercise for everyone. Go up to an African-American and say "What's up my nigger?" and report back what the response was. I'm sure the flippant use of the word would cease around here.

    It's used flippantly here?

If anything, I think TigerVols makes a valid point. In discussing the word, is it wrong to actually say or write the word?

In my opinion it is used flippantly. And yes, I can see TigerVols point. But that doesn't change the fact that the word is as offensive to many as a three letter word that is often referred to homosexuality.

    Example?

You don't get to play holier than though against some non-existent strawman. Where was it used flippantly?

    Who has disagreed with this?

Redd Foxx used it flippantly. No way in bloody hell this gets on network TV, or basic cable, or anything, today:
