    If it were clear, there wouldn't be such a debate about the intent of the amendment, and this SCOTUS decision wouldn't have been split 5-4.

    Is there a protocol for removing a Supreme Court justice, other than waiting for them to retire?

    Yes, they can be impeached. Not sure that it has ever been attempted, however.

    Well I think the movie the "Pelican Brief" outlined a way to get rid of at least two justices.........

    So, like, say, the Eighth Amendment, as pertains to yesterday's death penalty decision? Oh that's right. Your side didn't like that decision, so it was wrong.
