Schools with Devil mascots

This stupid state does the school first instead of the city...
and in some cases, where its the only one in the state -- no city at all. You are expected to know St. Jude is in Montgomery and St. Paul's is in Mobile. And the sheep accept it.

 

Unfortunately, yes. And sometimes, as above, it gets very clunky.

 

So the style is also Aurora Illinois Math and Science Academy? Eep.

 

We have a school like that, but everyone here shortens it to Richmond Model.

 

I don't think IMSA is an IHSA-sanctioned school.

BTW, former Apple Valley resident, the late Dale Evans (yes THAT Dale Evans) tried to get the name of Sun Devils changed. While she and her late husband, he of the singing cowboy persona, roast beef restaurants and museum featuring the stuffed, anatomically correct Trigger greeting Vegas-bound passers-by on Interstate 15, had plenty of pull in the Victor Valley, this was unsuccessful.

 

Got to show some love to Central High of Davenport, the oldest high school in the state, and one of the best old gyms to play in!  8)  The home of 49ers great Roger Craig, Elmer Layden of the Four Horsemen, playright Susan Glaspell, and former long-time Congressman Jim Leach.

Port Barre (LA) Red Devils! Go Big Red!

Funny story about the Red Devils of PBHS. Every Friday morning during football season, they attend Catholic mass as a team. During the mass, they get their helmets blessed (not to win, but to remain safe during the game). Never was a problem with the old priest, he loved to do it. New priest came in and he refused to bless the helmets because their logo is the letters PB with a pitchfork going through it. He even tried to get a petition started in church to change the mascot to Blue Angels. LOL

ULM used to have a beast LB named Maurice Sonnier from Port Barre. Every time I drive through there, that's the first thing I think of.
