    I like the First Amendment claim for violation of the right to expressive conduct/free speech as a hook to get into federal court with IIED state law claim to go along with it. Request a bench trial and hope you get a decent judge. You know she probably couldn't get to first base in state court.

    Also, what kind of claim do home-school kids bring to get to play on the public school football team? Maybe there's something analogous there -- like a right to equal access to public education opportunities or something.

    In most cases -- at least in big cities -- the people who vote morons onto the school board are A. morons themselves, and B. Tax receivers rather than tax payers.

    You just contradicted all you've said about the hard-working white, Republican folks propping up the country. Such fine folks, and you're now saying they don't do their civic duty and vote in a local election? For shame!

    I know when I think "big city," the first place I think of is Fulton, Mississippi.

    But you're right about one thing: When it comes to being a tax receiver, at least from the federal government's wallet, there are few states that do better than Mississippi.

    The problem with school taxpayers is that 90 percent of them DON'T vote for school board, unless of these things happens:

    -- There's been a tax increase
    -- Something popular got cut
    -- The board voted to change the mascot from "Indians"
